About AZ Record Removal

Helping You Move Forward

At AZ Record Removal, we focus on helping individuals move forward by reducing or removing the impact of criminal records. Our firm is dedicated to guiding clients through the legal processes available under Arizona law, including record sealing, set asides, expungement, restoring firearm rights, designating to misdemeanor, and terminate probation early.

We represent clients throughout Arizona, helping individuals take meaningful steps toward new opportunities, greater stability, and a stronger future.

Our Mission: Second Chances Start Here

AZ Record Removal was built on a simple belief:

Your past should not define your future and life is better without a criminal record.

A criminal record can affect employment, housing, education, and many other areas of life. Even after a case is resolved, the long-term impact can remain unless you do something about it.

Our mission is to help individuals take advantage of the legal options available to them so they can move forward with confidence. We work with clients to identify the best path toward clearing or reducing the visibility of their criminal record and complete every step of the process for them.

Why I Built This Firm

A five-minute mistake should not define your life. I learned that the hard way.

When I was 18, I got a DUI. I owned it. I made a mistake, accepted the consequences, and took my plea. That part is on me.

What happened next is why this firm exists.

About a month after my case ended, my license suspension started. A month after that, I was a passenger in a friend’s car. I was not driving. We got pulled over for expired tags. The officer collected everyone’s ID, including mine. I handed over my real driver license from the MVD, with all my real information on it.

I was arrested for giving false identification.

The license was genuine. The only problem was that it was suspended at that moment. On that technicality, my real ID counted as a false one. I offered to prove who I was with my passport. I was told to save it for the judge, and that the judge would sort it out if it was a misunderstanding.

It did not work that way.

I was a broke college student with no money for a lawyer, so I represented myself. I did not know the rules. At trial I got objected to on nearly everything I said. I explained that the license was real and asked the judge to dismiss the case. He told me he could not. The power to drop it had belonged to the officer and the prosecutor, and neither one used it. His hands were tied. I was convicted of giving false identification for handing over my own real license.

I went on to graduate seventh in my law school class and passed the bar on my first try. It still took me close to a year to get licensed, while my classmates took about three months, because I had to explain that conviction to the licensing board. The delay left me unemployed and unhirable for months. I lost a job over it. It made me question whether I belonged in this profession at all (even with 200k in student loan debt).

Here is what I learned. The system will not protect you on its own. A genuine mistake can turn into a permanent record over a technicality. And the people who are supposed to deliver fairness do not always do it.

So I cleared my record. I had every one of my cases set aside and sealed. Then I built this firm to do the same for you.

I know what that weight feels like, because I carried it. And I know how to take it off, because I did.

Criminal Record Removal Services We Provide

AZ Record Removal focuses on helping individuals throughout Arizona pursue legal options that may reduce or eliminate the impact of a criminal record. Eligibility depends on the type of offense and individual case history.

Sealing Records

Record sealing may allow individuals to limit public access to certain criminal records. Although sealed records are not visible to the public, they may still be accessible to law enforcement and certain agencies, and disclosure may still be required in specific situations. This can make it easier to apply for jobs, housing, and other opportunities.

Set Asides

A set aside allows the judge to set aside a conviction after the completion of a sentence. While it does not erase or seal the record, it dismisses the case and can demonstrate rehabilitation and improve future opportunities. Essentially, instead of your case being listed as guilty, it will be listed as “set aside.” Set-asides can also include restoration of firearm rights.

Expungement

In limited cases involving certain marijuana-related offenses, expungement may allow certain records to be removed. Our team helps clients understand whether they may be eligible and completes the process for them.

Restore Firearm Rights

This is the process of being allowed to possess firearms. Many people lose their firearms automatically once even being accused of a felony or domestic violence-related offense. Arizona says it has automatic restoration in some situations but it does not give you any kind of proof. We believe you must get proof through this process so that way you don’t end up in trouble in the future.

Designate to Misdemeanor

This is the process to take a felony or an undesignated offense and reduce it to a misdemeanor-level offense. At the end of your case, once you have successfully completed your sentence, the judge must approve it as it is not automatic.

Terminate Probation Early

This is the process in which those who are on probation, typically for felonies, are eligible to end their probation early once they have completed all of the requirements and at least 50% of their probation length has been completed. The judge must approve this termination. The sooner probation is over, the sooner you’re eligible for other record removal services.
